Major Pump (MP)

Description

Major Pump, basically, a Join Committee of Design & Development Type B Water Tender, the mainstay of the Service, after years of developments, traditionally was built on Dennis chassis due to its robust design, especially all chassis components mounted inboard. Its GVW has been increased slightly from previous 11,700 kg to the current 14,500 kg. The Major Pump is a typical three boxes design with seven compartments, all of them fitted with one-man lift bar roller shutters.

Function

Its primary function is to provide water supply to the front-line. Water supply can be provided from a build-in water tank, a street hydrant or any open water source.
