Duties
of a Fireman/Firewoman (Operational/Marine)
A
Fireman / Firewoman (Operational/Marine) is required to undergo
training and is mainly deployed on carrying out operational/marine
duties, e.g. fire-fighting and rescue work and to take part
in fire protection duties. Fireman / Firewoman (Operational/Marine)
is subject to discipline and is required to work shifts and
wear uniform.
Entry requirements
-
have
Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English
Language, together with Grade E or above in three
other subjects, in the Hong Kong Certificate of
Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;

civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade C’ and ‘Grade
E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus
B) in previous HKCEE are accepted administratively
as comparable to Level 3 and Level 2 respectively
in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007
HKCEE.]

- Be
able to pass the Eyesight Test (without spectacles);

Be able to pass the Physical Fitness Test and Job-related
Performance Test; and

Be able to speak fluent Cantonese.

Point 4 of the General Disciplined Services (Rank &
File) Pay Scale.
Training
- A
Recruit Fireman / Firewoman (Operational/Marine) has to
undergo a 26-week residential initial training at the
Fire Services Training School.
