Fire Safety Requirements for New Territories Exempted House (Small Houses)

With effect from 1.7.2006, Fire Services Department, in collaboration with the Lands department, has adopted a new guideline to fire safety requirements for New Territories Exempted House (Small Houses). On account of topographical or land ownership constraints rendering the provision of Emergency Vehicular Access impracticable, applicants for New Territories Exempted Houses (Small Houses), having obtained approval from District Lands Officer, are allowed to use alternative fire safety measures in lieu of the Emergency Vehicular Access. To this effect, the following F.S.D. Circular Letter has been issued for reference:-
