( Video ) Procedures of requesting fire and ambulance services.

When reporting a fire / special service incident, you should
  • Remain calm, dial 999
  • Clearly state the nature of the incident
    e.g. building fire, gas leakage, etc.
  • Clearly state the location of the incident
    e.g. street name, building number and name, floor and block number
  • Briefly describe the situation at the scene
    e.g. people trapped, number of casualties
  • Provide your contact telephone number
AMBULANCE SERVICE
When calling for an ambulance, you should
  • Remain calm, dial 999
  • Clearly state the nature of the incident
    e.g. unconsciousness, traffic accident injuries etc.
  • Clearly state the location of the incident
    e.g. street name, building number and name, floor and block number
  • Briefly describe the condition and medical history of the patient
    e.g. heart disease, asthma, diabetes, etc.
  • Provide your contact telephone number

AMBULANCE SERVICE

  • Remain calm
  • Dial 999
  • Clearly state the location of the incident (street name, building number and name, floor and flat number)
  • If the scene is hard to locate, quote a place nearby which is conspicuous and easy to find
  • State the nature of the incident (e.g. fire, traffic accident, chemical substance leakage, unconsciousness, heart attack, etc.)
  • If there is a patient, briefly describe the condition of the patient, or provide the medical history of the patient (e.g. heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, etc.)
  • Provide your contact telephone number

  • Clearly state the subject matter of your complaint, e.g. obstruction of fire escape, storage of excessive dangerous goods, or other matters
  • Tell where and when the irregularities occur
