The
Regulation:
Control subject matter:
-
The control of the conveyance of any Dangerous Goods (Category
2 [other than LP Gas] and/or Category 5) classified in
the Dangerous Goods (Application and Exempted) Regulations
by means of licensing.

“Conveyance” includes the situation when dangerous goods
are loaded in a vehicle irrespective of whether the vehicle
is moving or being parked stationary until the dangerous
goods are unloaded from the vehicle. A trailer with dangerous
goods on board and is detached from a prime mover cannot
be regarded as under conveyance.

Any person who convey dangerous goods without a valid
licence shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable
to a fine of $25,000 and to imprisonment for 6 months.
Licence
Conditions:
-
A licence will be granted with terms and conditions specifying
the requirements for the conveyance of Category 2 [other
than LP Gas] and/or Category 5 Dangerous Goods.

The
Licensing Authority may revoke such licence on proof to
his satisfaction of an offence against the Dangerous Goods
Ordinance or a breach of any condition of such licence
by the holder thereof.

The breach of any term or condition endorsed upon such
licence shall constitute an offence which shall be punishable
on summary conviction by a fine not exceeding $10,000
and imprisonment not exceeding 1 months.

How
to apply:
-
Application form (DG/TS/337A)
should be completed and submitted together with photocopy
of Hong Kong Identity Card or Business Registration Certificate
by the applicant/agent to Dangerous Goods Division for
application.

According to the vehicle design and the Category of Dangerous
Goods they carry, Dangerous Goods vehicles are classified
into 7
types, namely Type “B” to Type “D”, Type “F”
to Type “H” and panel van.

Following receipt of an application for Dangerous Goods
vehicle licence with supporting documents, fire safety
requirements relevant to the type of vehicle (Form DG/TS/126
for Type “B” to Type “D”, Type “F” to Type “H”
or Form DG/TS/135
for panel van) together with relevant documents will be
issued for compliance by the applicant.
Vehicle
Inpection Booking

For
either new application or renewal, when your vehicle is
ready for inspection, the applicant or licensee may make
a booking by filling the attached booking form (

) or during office hour by telephone to 24175767.
Performance pledge:
-
Written reply together with fire safety requirements are
issued within 6 working days upon receipt of application.

Upon receipt of written or verbal report of completion
of fire safety requirements, inspection of the vehicle
will be made within 7 working days to confirm compliance.

Upon confirmation of full compliance with the fire safety
requirements, Dangerous Goods vehicle licence will be
ready for collection within 6 working days.
Licence fees:
- Fee
for the grant or renewal of a DG vehicle licence :
$835 per annum for each Category of Dangerous Goods

Fee for the making of an alteration or endorsement on a
licence :
$230.
