Roving
Exhibitions to Promote Fire Safety
******************************************************
The
Fire Services Department will organise a series of roving
exhibitions to enhance the public's awareness of fire safety
during the coming festive season.
The first exhibition will be held tomorrow afternoon (January
18) at Laguna City in Kwun Tong; this will be followed by
one at City Landmark in Tsuen Wan on January 23. The last
exhibition will be held at Lockhart Road in Causeway Bay on
January 30.
On display at the exhibitions will be the department's Mobile
Publicity Unit (MPU) and a fire engine from a fire station
nearby.
The MPU is a converted truck which houses all the exhibits,
aided by computerised multi-media facilities. Touch-screen
computers loaded with information on fire safety, previous
major fires and the department's appliances
and equipment will be on board. Fire service installations
including a hose reel, fire detection and automatic fire alarm
systems and different types of portable fire extinguishers
will also be found on the MPU.
Fire safety ambassadors who were enlisted to help promote
fire safety and assist in reporting fire hazards will be invited
to join the exhibitions. Fire services personnel also will
be on site to answer enquiries about fire safety.
