The Director of Fire Services, Mr Lo Chun-hung, today (May
9) congratulated 131 graduates at a passing-out parade for
becoming members of the Fire Services Department.
While inspecting the passing-out parade, Mr Lo encouraged
the graduates to better equip themselves through continuous
learning in order to provide quality services to meet changing
public demands.
He said that the department had provided advanced training
in various areas for members to enhance their skills and
capabilities. These include special rescue training, mountain
rescue training, high-angle rescue training, deep dive
training, incident command training and paramedic training.
The graduates, comprising 13 station officers, 53 firemen
and 65 ambulancemen, have gone through a stringent, 26-week
basic training course and passed the test. They will be
posted to various fire stations and ambulance depots to
undergo on-the-job training to gain field experience.
