Applicator, Fog, High Pressure
| Description
|
The
high pressure fog applicator is made of aluminum alloy. It is tubular
in shape measuring 40 mm in diameter and 2.49 m in length. It has a 65
mm diameter ball valve and fitted with a 63.5 mm (2 1/2”) male instantaneous
coupling. When operated under a water pressure of 10 bars, it will produce
a cylindrical water spray in fine mist of 8 m diameter at a projection
of 4 m from the tip. The water output is approximately 1200 litres per
minute dispersing through a total of 281 holes each of 1.6 mm in diameter.

| Function
|
Water droplets
from this high pressure fog applicator will reduce the fire ground temperature
to allow firemen to gain access. Some of the droplets will turn into steam
and absorb heat from the fire, the remaining will wet the surface of nearby
combustible materials to delay combustion.
