High Expansion Foam Generator (Turbex)

Description The foam generator consists of a pourer and a piece of (optional) plastic tubing. The fan of the pourer which is driven directly from the shaft of a water turbine supplies an air stream to spray the foam solution on to the surface of the screen. The action of mixing the air/foam solution and blowing the mixture through the screen produces foam.
Function The foam generator is used to apply high expansion foam to fires within enclosed spaces, e.g. basement etc. The foam can expel hot gases and smoke from a fire ground for cooling purposes. It can generate foam at a maximum rate of 192m3/min. With the ribbed flexible ducting, the generator can also be used for smoke extraction, its maximum extraction rate is 280m3/min.
