Secondary School Student Digital AED and CPR Experiential
Secondary schools are cordially invited to join the captioned programmes for enhancing understanding and preparedness for emergency situations in the community.
Details
“Secondary School Student Digital AED and CPR Experiential” Programme: Organised by the Hong Kong Fire Services Department (FSD) and supported by the Education Bureau. The programme consists of two parts:- CPR/AED Awareness Course and Be Part of “Resuscitation Alliance” Course.
Part 1 – CPR/AED Awareness Course (35-minute): The course allows students to experience how to use CPR and AED simulations and experiential tools in the classroom through the educational videos and "life events" provided by the FSD, as well as the FSD's “Post-dispatch Advice” and AED voice prompts in response to cardiac arrest patients. Students could experience how untrained individuals can handle cardiac arrest patients. It is emphasised that confidence is more important than ability in performing CPR and using AED.
Part 2 – Be Part of “Resuscitation Alliance” Course (35-minute): Upon the completion of Part 1 - CPR/AED Awareness Course, students could participate in Part 2. The course is conducted by the FSD qualified instructor. Students could join as a “Resuscitation Alliance” member and get ready for saving a life in cardiac arrest incidents upon the completion of the practical training and assessment.
Schools interested in participating in the programme please email to application_psc@hkfsd.gov.hk with the subject "Secondary School Student Digital AED and CPR Experiential Programme”.
